The project also included a freestanding outbuilding beside a new lap pool, housing a garage, wine cellar, and a studio above extending the home’s living and entertaining space beyond the main residence.
A Federation Home Restored and Extended
Vanda Constructions completed this home renovation Manly project, a major restoration and extension on Sydney’s Northern Beaches. The original Federation-era home had genuine character worth preserving. It featured a classic brick facade and a distinctive gabled roofline. So, our focus was on extending and updating the house without losing what made it special.
A Kitchen and Powder Room With Character
Inside, the transformation is significant. The reimagined kitchen features stone benchtops and brass detailing. This gives the space a warm, contemporary feel that still sits comfortably within the home’s period bones. A striking powder room adds a moment of personality to the build, finished with bold botanical wallpaper. Throughout, we balanced classic materials with modern finishes. As a result, the home feels updated without feeling disconnected from its original character.
